Our Story: The Evolution of IOTA

The team behind IOTA developed an earlier platform, Livepoint, which was designed to analyze and visualize industrial data. Launched in 2007, Livepoint introduced a thin client system that allowed for real-time monitoring through video streaming, overlaid data parameters, and export functionality. As the needs of industrial users evolved, so did Livepoint. By 2008, it had transformed into a more advanced, multi-source data aggregation tool that offered a completely visual user experience, eliminating the need for coding. It prioritized simplicity, ensuring that any insight could be accessed in just three clicks. As industry demands grew, Livepoint continued to advance, moving away from Flash-based technology and adopting HTML5 by 2014. The platform became more powerful, incorporating containerized architecture, 3D visualization, and enhanced batch process analysis tools that allowed users to track and compare batches over time.

Despite these innovations, our team saw that industrial manufacturers were facing even bigger challenges. Many were locked into vendor-proprietary data visualization tools that restricted flexibility, struggling with the complexity of managing diverse data sources while trying to synchronize control systems. Digital transformation was proving to be a moving target, and many organizations found it difficult to implement change due to training obstacles and varying user needs.

High data migration costs, security vulnerabilities from external access, and the burden of maintaining outdated legacy systems only added to the strain. Recognizing these pain points, we knew that the industry needed more than just another software upgrade—it needed a reimagined solution designed for the realities of modern industrial operations.

With this in mind, our team built IOTA, a next-generation industrial visualization platform that provides real-time monitoring, seamless multi-vendor integration, and advanced analytics—all within an intuitive, scalable, and secure environment. Designed to eliminate the barriers to adoption, IOTA ensures that industrial teams can harness their data without the complexity of traditional solutions. Whether its plant operators needing instant process visibility, engineers conducting deep-dive analysis, or executives tracking key performance indicators across multiple sites, IOTA delivers the insights needed to drive efficiency, reduce downtime, and enable smarter decision-making.

Today, IOTA stands as a leader in industrial intelligence, committed to transforming the way businesses interact with their operational data. As industries continue to evolve, so will we—pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in real-time visualization, analytics, and industrial process intelligence. This is our journey, and we’re just getting started.
